Belles Featured in LSC Postseason Honors

SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Angelo State women's soccer team collected a multitude of Lone Star Conference postseason accolades after finishing the spring season undefeated and claiming the conference title. Individual awards were selected by division following a vote of the league's head coaches.
 
Avery McNeme led the Lone Star postseason awards for ASU, earning Player of the Year along with Midfielder of the Year for the third consecutive season. McNeme finished in a tie for most points on the team, collecting give goals and three assists on the season.
 
Cassidy Hill was selected as the Defensive Player of the Year, leading the Belles' backline to eight shutouts, giving up only two goals all season. ASU finished the season with five straight clean sheets while not allowing a single goal through the LSC Tournament.
 
Gabby Villagrand led the Belles in goals, scoring six on the season to earn Lone Star Forward of the Year. She finished the year with 10 shots on goal while holding a shot percentage of .429 with 71 percent of her attempts landing on target.
 
Bianca Troost earned Newcomer of the Year, splitting her time in goal and in the field. She collected on goal and one assist while giving up only one goal in 288 minutes between the posts. Troost tallied seven saves and three wins on the season.
 
Head Coach Travis McCorkle was named LSC Coach of the Year after leading his squad to an undefeated season and the second LSC Tournament Championship in program history. This is the fifth time in eight seasons that McCorkle has earned the honor.
 
The Belles collected five All-Conference Team accolades in Maddi Kyle, Cindy Rodriguez, and Madison Stokes along with Hill and McNeme.
 
Katelin Heise was selected to the All-Freshman team as a midfielder while Marissa Brezgiel was nominated to the All-Academic Team.
