The Angelo State men's basketball team will wrap up non-conference play for the season as the Rams take on UT Permian Basion on Thursday as they try for their fifth straight win over the Falcons.

The Rams dropped their first Lone Star Conference contest of the season last weekend as St. Edward's held on to a 96-80 victory.

The Rams have found a good deal of success against the Falcons in recent years, winning five of the last six games while taking over the all-time series lead.

The Falcons have had a strong start to their season, entering the week with a 9-3 overall record after starting conference play with a 66-65 win over St. Edward's. UTPB currently ranks fifth in the LSC in points per game, scoring 80.8 points on average while allowing only 68.8 points by their opponents.

UTPB also has the second-best field goal percentage in the conference, shooting .501 on the season including a .385 mark from three-point range. The Falcons are also third in the league in turnover margin at plus-5 while ranking second in assists per game at 15.83.

Jordan Horn leads the Falcons in scoring with 80 points per game which is the third-highest average in the conference. DaJuan Jones has already crossed the 100-assist mark on the season, leading the conference in assists with an average of 8.3 per game. Miles Daniels is adding 15 points per game while Jones is also average double-figures in points with 13.8.
