The Angelo State men's basketball team looks to avoid their first three game losing streak of the season as they travel to San Antonio to matchup with a red-hot St. Mary's team.
 
LAST TIME OUT:
The Rams lost twice last week, at home 71-57 to UT Permian Basin and on the road, 79-74 to Western New Mexico. Against the Falcons, a hot start from the Rams was bested by a more complete game from UTPB, Tyrell Carroll led the Rams with 17 points. Western jumped ahead of the Rams who placed a comeback bid that fell just short, Lathaniel Bastian's 23 points and nine rebounds were the offensive catalyst on the evening.

The Rams used a balanced attack to take down the Rattlers early in the season in a non-conference matchup. Four double-digit scorers, led by Kelyn Pennie's 14 points lifted the Rams in the victory. ASU trails the all-time series, but are 4-1 in the last five vs StMU.
 
SCOUTING ST MARY'S:
The Rattlers enter the week sitting second in the LSC with their 7-1 record in conference. StMU has conference wins this season over Western New Mexico, St. Edward's, UTPB, and WT to name a few. The Rattlers are 2-1 against ranked opponents this season, defeating fifth-ranked Colorado School of Mines 82-59 to begin the season and the 20^th ranked Buffs this past Tuesday. St. Mary's is currently riding a seven game win streak.
 
StMU currently holds the sixth highest-scoring offense in the Lone Star, averaging 78.2 points per game. On the other side of the ball, the Rattlers are holding opponents to 72.5 points per game, ranking 12^th in the conference. The Rattlers rank sixth in both offensive and defensive field goal percentage, shooting .462 themselves, while holding opponents to .421. St. Mary's ranks second in the conference, averaging 15 assists per contest.
 
Tyler Caron leads the Rattlers with 12.1 points per game, Caleb Jordan adds 11.5 points, and Mamady Djikine 11.2 points to round out their top three. Caron leads the Rattlers in rebounding, grabbing 6.5 per game, while Kobe Magee is second in the conference, averaging 5.2 assists a game.
