Tempe, Ariz. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released their list of academic award winners this afternoon, and the Angelo State women's tennis program earned All-Academic honors while seven of their student-athletes were named Scholar-Athletes, the organization announced this morning.
Athletes must have a 3.5 GPA for the current academic year to be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete. For a team to be called an ITA All-Academic Team, the program must own a team average of a 3.2 GPA.
The Belles that earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors are
Esther Bowers,
Eva Schwartz,
Ena Ovcina,
Mieke Van Deventer,
Alexandra Vishnevskaya,
Ramitha Irrinki, and
Dianela Rodriguez.
The Belles have been named an All-Academic Team every season since the program's resurrection in 2017-18, and the seven Scholar-Athletes are the most for the Belles since 2020 when they also had seven honorees.
Belle Tennis student-athletes have earned Scholar-Athlete honors 29 times over the program's five-year run.
