SAN ANGELO - The Angelo State men's basketball team open their home Lone Star Conference schedule this weekend when they welcome UAFS and Oklahoma Christian into the Junell Center - Stephens Arena. The Rams take on the Lions on Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. before closing their weekend against the Eagles on Saturday at 3 p.m.
LAST WEEK IN RAMS BASKETBALL
The Rams opened their LSC schedule on the road with wins over Texas A&M-Kingsville and Texas A&M International. The Rams prevailed 85-81 in overtime against the Javelinas before downing the Dustdevils 69-63 in Laredo.
Kevon Godwin was the Rams' leading scorer, averaging 19.5 points per game on 57.1 percent shooting.
Trey Farrer averaged 16.5 points and eight rebounds, and
Keyshawn Embery-Simpson averaged 16 points off the bench in his return from injury.
FINAL MEETING VS. UAFS
With UAFS set to leave the LSC to join the MIAA next season, this will mark the final regular-season match-up between the Lions and the Rams. Despite five previous meetings between the Lions and the Rams all-time, this will mark the first time that the two teams have played in San Angelo.

The Lions are 1-6 on the season and 0-2 in conference play, with those two losses coming against West Texas A&M and Lubbock Christian at home this past weekend. The Lions are 0-2 on the road this season with losses to Black Hills State and Southern Nazarene.
UAFS averages 81.3 points per game on 47.4 percent shooting and 34.1 percent from three. They have four players averaging double figures in scoring, led by CSU Pueblo transfer Lian Ramiro, who is averaging 13.7 points per game. The Eagles are 2-5 on the season and 0-2 in LSC play, with their conference losses happening in Oklahoma City against Lubbock Christian and West Texas A&M. The Eagles have a win over a ranked opponent, defeating No. 13 Black Hills State to open the season.
The Eagles average 77.9 points per game on 44.5 percent shooting from the field and 34.1 percent shooting from deep. Moun'Tae Edmundson leads the team in scoring with 13.6 points per game; Edmundson leads the squad with a 37 percent shooting mark from three-point range. Serbian big man Jovan Savic leads the Eagles' rebounding efforts with 6.9 boards per game.

- Forward Chris Boekhorst recorded his first-career assist against Arlington Baptist on Nov. 25; he made two shots against the Patriots, tying a career-high.
- Guard Kendrick Delahoussaye scored 14 points in his home debut against Arlington Baptist on Nov. 25; he made four free throws in his debut against Southern Arkansas on Nov. 21 and grabbed three rebounds against Texas A&M International on Dec. 2.
