RICHARDSON, Texas – On the heels of a stifling defensive performance in their sole game last week,
Tayjanna McGhee-Pleasant was named the Lone Star Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the organization announced Monday afternoon.
The Rambelles held UT Permian Basin to their third worst shooting performance of the season, making only 27.9 percent of their shots on 19-68 shooting. McGhee-Pleasant led the way with a double-double that included 14 points and 10 rebounds. The junior majoring in Kinesiology was a force in the paint with three blocks on the afternoon that saw the Rambelles claim a share of the LSC West Division title.
McGhee-Pleasant and the Rambelles now turn to the conference tournament which gears up on Thursday with the Blue and Gold battling Cameron in the first round at the Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas.
