SAN ANGELO, Texas- The Angelo State women's basketball team was represented on the 2024-2025 Academic All-District team by College Sports Communicators (CSC) with
Madeline Stephens earning the distinction, officials announced Tuesday afternoon.
A native of Lubbock, Texas Stephens has been named to the Lone Star Conference academic honor roll in all semesters of eligibility. Graduating with her degree in Health Science Professions with a 3.95 GPA and is currently in the process of getting her MBA.
Stephens averaged 13.4 ppg and nine rebounds a contest this season.
Stephens wrapped up a stellar career earlier this month that saw her breaking a program record collecting 1114 career rebounds and finishing third all-time in program history recording 1720 career points. Stephens was one of the main drivers of the 2024-2025 campaign, was a first-team All-LSC honoree, and was also named to the CCA All-region second team.
Submitted by an institution's CSC-member athletics communications personnel, nominees for CSC All-Dsitrct consideration must have a grade point average of at least 3.50 and must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically. Basketball nominees must compete in 90 percent of institution's game played or must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games.
The 2024-2025 Academic All-District Men's and Women's Basketball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the Classroom. The CSC Academic All-America Program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions - NCAA Division 1, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.
Since Stephens was selected as a CSC Academic All-America finalist she will be advancing to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First, Second, and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced on April 16, 2025.
