INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – After securing the Lone Star Conference Tournament Championship earlier today, the Angelo State women's basketball team was named the number one seed in the South Central Regional where they will face a familiar foe, West Texas A&M, in the first round of the NCAA DII Women's Basketball Tournament, the organization announced Sunday evening.
As the highest seed in the region, the tournament will take place at the Junell Center/Stephens Arena running Friday Mar. 10-13. More information to come tomorrow with exact times for each game.
The Rambelles were one of five Lone Star Conference schools selected into the regional, they were joined by three schools from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
The winner of the (1) Angelo State versus (8) West Texas A&M matchup will face the winner of the four-five, (4) Colorado School of Mines and (5) UT Tyler.
Texas Woman's received the two seed and matchup once more with Lubbock Christian, the seven seed. The winner of that contest will play the winner of (3) Regis and (6) Black Hills State.
