INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Maria Sierra Sanz will represent Angelo State women's golf as an individualist at the West Regional of the NCAA DII women's golf championships which runs May 8-10, the organization announced Monday afternoon.
 
Sierra Sanz is one of six individuals who qualified for the West Regional. The Regional will take place at the Golf Club of Dallas where 12 teams and six individuals will compete. The top four teams and two individuals not on an advancing team will advance to the championships from the West Regional. The championships will be May 16-20 at Fox Run Golf Club in Eureka, Missouri.
 
Sierra Sanz has been the individual medalist (top performing individual) at two tournaments this season, the Concho River Classic (09/20/22) and the King Alfred Invitational (03/21/23). The Interdisciplinary Studies major has averaged a 74.7 over 23 rounds of golf to this point in the season.
