RICHARDSON, Texas— The Angelo State women's soccer team collected two weekly honors from the conference as
Christina Clark was named the Lone Star Conference Defensive Player of the Week, and
Amber Lockwood was named the Goalkeeper of the Week.
Clark and Lockwood both have earned two LSC Players of the Week at their respective positions this season.
The Rambelles faced off against Lubbock Christian to open their week. In the contest, Christiana Clark recorded her second brace of the year, scoring in the 70th and 72nd minute to give the Rambelles a 3-1 win. At UT Tyler, Clark led the defensive unit in keeping the team's 12th clean sheet of the season and helping the Belles win their fifth Lone Star Conference Regular Season Championship in program history.
Amber Lockwood is second in the conference with 10 shutouts on the season. Lockwood leads the conference in goals against only conceding eight goals on the year.
In the match against Lubbock Christian she would record three saves thanks to the stifling defense of the Blue and Gold.
Against UT Tyler, Lockwood would come up big for the Rambelles recording seven saves in the contest to help the Blue and Gold keep a clean sheet and clinching the Lone Star Conference Regular Season Championship for the Rambelles.
The Rambelles will be back in action on Friday in the semifinals of the LSC Tournament when they take on the winner of Midwestern State vs. St. Mary's at the LeGrand Soccer Complex with kickoff scheduled for 5 p.m.
