SAN ANGELO - The Angelo State men's basketball team returns home this weekend as they face their two most significant tests inside the Junell Center - Stephens Arena this season in Lubbock Christian, who are receiving votes in the NABC Division II poll, and No. 1 West Texas A&M.
LAST TIME OUT IN RAMS BASKETBALL
The Rams split their games in New Mexico last weekend, falling to Eastern New Mexico 100-79 before closing their weekend on a high by defeating Western New Mexico, 98-91, in overtime.
Keyshawn Embery-Simpson led the Rams with 16 points against the Greyhounds, while
Kevon Godwin and
Kendrick Delahoussaye had 12 points each. Embery-Simpson once again paced the Rams' offense against WNMU, scoring 33 points.
OVERTIME RAMS
Saturday's game against WNMU was the Rams' third overtime game of the season; they are 2-1 in those games this season. They are also 2-0 in single-overtime contests this season.
GODWIN CLOSING IN ON 1000 POINTS
Rams senior guard
Kevon Godwin has 982 career points for the Rams, just 18 points away from becoming the 13th player in program history to reach the century mark in scoring and the first to do so since Paul Williams accomplished the milestone in the 2021-22 season. Godwin is also fourth in program history in threes made with 144, 36 off of Quay King's 180 made threes.

The Chaps are 16-6 on the season, and 11-3 in LSC play; they currently sit in third place in the LSC standings. The Chaps are coming off a pair of wins this past weekend over Midwestern State and Cameron; they are 4-2 on the road this season.
LCU scores 79.2 points per game on 50.3 percent shooting from the field, the second-best mark in the league. The Chaps also lead the league with 10.6 made threes per game. The Chaps have four players scoring in double figures, led by Tiras Morton's 16.1 points per game.
The Chaps' defense is one of the toughest in the league, only allowing 68.4 points per game; opponents shoot 44.7 percent from the field and 32.9 percent from three against the Chaps. Morton averages 1.5 blocks per game and is the reigning LSC Defensive Player of the Week.

Keyshawn Embery-Simpson scored a career-high 36 points on 12-of-20 shooting from the field and 7-of-13 shooting from three.
Kendrick Delahoussaye had 14 points, while

Carvell Teasett added 12 and 11 points, respectively. LCU's Ethan Duncan led the Chaps with 30 points on 10-of-15 shooting and seven made threes.

The Buffs are 20-1 on the season and 14-0 in conference play; their sole loss came on November 16th, a one-point defeat to MSU Denver in Canyon. The nation's top-ranked team, the Buffs hold a two-game lead atop the LSC standings.
WT averages 84.7 points per game on 48.3 percent shooting from the field and 38.9 percent from three. The Buffs are led offensively by reigning LSC Offensive Player of the Week Larry Wise, who is coming off a weekend in which he averaged 30.5 points per game, seven rebounds, and 4.5 assists. Wise has been named the league's offensive player of the week for the past three weeks.
The Buffs allow 71 points per game, and their 13.7 scoring margin is the best in the conference. Opponents shoot 43.4 percent from the field and 32.5 percent from three, their three-point shooting defense topping the LSC. Ryland Holt leads WT in steals and blocks, contributing over half of the team's blocks on the season.

- Forward DJ Basey set a new career-high with four blocks against Western New Mexico on Jan. 4 and tied his career-high of eight rebounds against Oklahoma Christian on Dec. 9; he attempted a career-high 12 field goals and tied his personal best of eight field goals made against ENMU on Jan. 6.
- Forward Chris Boekhorst recorded his first-career assist against Arlington Baptist on Nov. 25; he made two shots against the Patriots, tying a career-high.
- Guard Kendrick Delahoussaye scored 14 points twice, doing so against Arlington Baptist and Lubbock Christian; he grabbed four rebounds versus Eastern New Mexico on Jan. 6 and assisted five times against LCU.
- Guard Keyshawn Embery-Simpson scored a career-high 37 points for the Rams against WNMU on Feb. 3. He has made seven threes twice, doing so against West Liberty and LCU.
