Indianapolis, Ind. – For the third successive season, the Angelo State men's basketball team has earned an at-large bid to compete at the NCAA South Central regional, which was announced tonight on the selection show on NCAA.com.
The selection is the tenth appearance all-time for the Rams in the NCAA Tournament; it is the first time in program history that the Rams have made three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances.
The Rams are the eighth seed in the region and will take on the top seed and host of the regional, West Texas A&M, on Saturday, March 16
th, in the opening round.
The Rams dropped both of their contests to the Buffs this season, falling 88-73 in Canyon back on January 11
th and losing in overtime inside the Junell Center 94-90.
The winner would face the winner of the four-five matchup between DBU and Colorado School of Mines on Sunday, March 17
th, and the regional final is scheduled to take place on March 19
th.
The other side of the bracket features Fort Lewis taking on Lubbock Christian and Colorado Mesa facing off against Eastern New Mexico.
