Kansas City, Mo. – The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) released their All-District teams this morning, and Angelo State men's basketball graduate student Keyshawn Embery-Simpson was named to the All-South Central District Second Team.

This is the first all-region honor for Embery-Simpson in his career; this season, he was named the LSC Newcomer of the Year and an All-LSC First Team selection.

A Criminal Justice major, Embery-Simpson hit the ground running for the Blue and Gold, scoring 30 points in his debut, which saw the Rams win over No. 15 Fort Lewis. He finished fourth in the LSC in scoring with 18.7 points per game.

His 87 made three-pointers are the third-most in a single season in ASU history.

Embery-Simpson turned in ten games with 20 or more points and three 30-point performances. He scored 36 points on 12-of-20 shooting from the field and 7-of-13 three-point shooting in a tight loss to Lubbock Christian on January 13th and tallied a new career-high 37 points on 11-of-24 shooting from the field in an overtime win over Western New Mexico on February 3rd.

In his two postseason games, Embery-Simpson averaged 23 points per game on 45.7 percent shooting from the field and 55.6 percent from three.

This is the second consecutive season the Rams have had an NABC All-District selection, with Kevon Godwin earning second-team honors last season.

Embery-Simpson helped lead the Rams to a 19-11 record in the 2023-24 season and helped the Rams to their third-straight appearance at the NCAA Tournament.
