Rams Open LSC Tournament with ENMU

SAN ANGELO - The Angelo State men's basketball team opens their postseason play this Thursday night in Frisco, taking on fifth-seeded Eastern New Mexico at 8:30 p.m. inside the Comerica Center.

LAST TIME OUT
The Rams closed their regular season with a thrilling 68-67 win over UT Permian Basin last Thursday in Odessa, with senior point guard Willie Guy hitting the go-ahead jumper with six seconds left to give the Rams the victory. The win secured the five seed for the Rams and eliminated the Falcons from LSC Tournament contention. Kevon Godwin led all players with 24 points on 10-of-19 shooting from the field and 4-of-7 shooting from three. Keyshawn Embery-Simpson, Kendrick Delahoussaye, and Guy each scored ten points.

GODWIN CLIMBS UP CAREER SCORING LIST
Kevon Godwin became the 13th player in program history to score 1,000 points for the Blue and Gold earlier this season and became the ninth player to score 1,100 points. Godwin currently sits at 1,111 points, eighth in program history. His 24 points against the Falcons saw him jump Robert Criner (1975-79) for eighth on the all-time scoring list. He sits 21 points away from tying former teammate Paul Williams (2018-22) for seventh on the all-time scoring list.

RAMS IN REGIONAL RANKINGS
The Rams are ninth in the NCAA South Central Regional rankings released last Wednesday. The final edition of rankings will come out tomorrow before the selection show on Sunday night.
