SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Angelo State baseball team will travel to Grand Junction, Colorado where the sixth-seeded Rams will compete in the South Central Regional, facing off against third-seeded West Texas A&M on Thursday, May 16.
LAST TIME OUT:
ASU went 0-2 in the Lone Star Conference double elimination tournament over the weekend, as it suffered shutout losses to UAFS and UTPB in games where the Rams left a total of 18 runners on bases combined.

The Rams and the Buffs split the regular season series just three weeks ago. The long ball proved to be the deciding factor in all contests with both teams hitting a combined 12 home runs across the four-game series.
SCOUTING THE BUFFS
West Texas A&M dropped the series against UAFS in the first round of the Lone Star Conference two games to one.
At the plate, WT sits second in the LSC with a .339 team batting average. Kyle Micklus, Kory Schmidt and Dylan Fesperman highlight the lineup as they sit in the top 10 in conference batting average with each of them hitting over .400.
On the mound, the Buffs are second in the conference with a team ERA of 5.87. Matt Milner holds a team-best 5.14 ERA amongst qualified starters. His teammate, Nick Marshall, leads the team with 72 strikeouts. Douglas Rojas has made the most appearances on the team (29) while holding onto a 5-0 record with a 4.10 ERA.

RAMS EARN EIGHT ALL-CONFERENCE HONORS
The Rams brought home eight all-LSC honors headlined by
Tripp Clark,
Jacob Guerrero,
Dax Dathe and Caleb Huertez being named to the first team.
Braxton Pearson and
Alezeah Gutierrez were named to the second team while
Conagher Sands earned a third team honor.
Guerrero was also named to the conference All-Academic team which is chosen by the league's sports information directors. To be eligible for LSC academic honors, student-athletes must have played in at least 50 percent of the team's contests, reached sophomore athletic and academic standing, completed at least one full academic year at the nominating institution, and have a minimum 3.30 cumulative grade point average based on the 4.0 system for their entire collegiate career.
