WINGATE, N.C. – The Angelo State baseball team has been ranked No. 2 by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers of America and the American Baseball Coaches Association in their respective preseason polls released Monday afternoon.
This is the second and third preseason polls that tab the Rams in No. 2 spot behind the defending National Champions, Tampa.
The NCBWA Top-25 poll includes a familiar regional opponent, Colorado Mesa at No. 10 while Lubbock Christian (No. 15) and West Texas (No. 23) round out Lone Star Conference representation.
In the ABCA poll, Colorado Mesa checks in at No. 8 of the 40-team poll. LCU sits at No. 12 and WT holds on the 21
st spot while UT Tyler appears for the first time this offseason at No. 16.
The Rams will begin the 2025 season on Friday, Jan. 27 when ASU hosts UT Permian Basin at Foster Field at 1st Community Credit Union Stadium.
