Portales, N.M. – Angelo State volleyball junior outside hitter
Madi Parrish earned a pair of regional honors this morning, being named the South Central Regional Player of the Year by both the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) and the Division II Conference Commissioners' Association (D2CCA).
Parrish, a native of Saginaw, Texas, earns the third and fourth all-region honors of her prolific career, after earning two in 2024.
Parrish is the first Belle to earn multiple all-region honors in her career since former Belle Kailyn Gilbreath did so in 2019 and 2021. She is the first Belle to be named regional player of the year since Gilbreath in the 2021 season.
Parrish, a finance student, averages 4.27 points per set on a .252 attack percentage. She has recorded 17 double-doubles this season and was named the LSC Offensive Player of the Year, the LSC Player of the Year, and repeated as the LSC Tournament MVP.
The 2024 AVCA Second Team All-American has recorded 1,142 kills in her career for the Blue and Gold, which puts her tenth in the program's history. She is also 14
th in school history with 103 aces.
She is the sixth Belle in program history to record 1,000 kills and 100 aces.
Parrish and the Belles are the No. 3 seed in the South Central regional and open their NCAA Tournament time tomorrow afternoon against Lubbock Christian.
