ABILENE, Texas – Competing in the first full outdoor meet of the season, the Angelo State track & field teams set three program records at the Wes Kittley Invite hosted by Abilene Christian. ASU also collected seven provisional marks combined during the meet.
For the Rams,
Solomon Odonkor set two program records on the day, winning the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.05 before claiming the 200-meter dash with a record time of 20.39.
Oleg Ananev set ASU's record in the pole vault, clearing a height of 5.60m (18-04.50) to win the event for the Rams.
Winning the triple jump was
Josh Body who jumped a provisional mark of 15.16m (49-9) while
Adrian Washington finished second in the high jump, clearing a height of 2.00m (6-6.75).
The men's 4x100-meter relay team of
Kacy Kincaid,
Taylor Briggs,
Tristan Guerrero, and Odonkor earned a provisional time of 40.62 to take second overall in the event.
Mark Burdin (52.35 | 171-9) finished second overall in the javelin while
Cole Paxton (53.72 | 176-3) also finished second in the hammer throw.
On the women's side,
Tiamara Hill-Johnson earned a provisional mark in the discus, winning the event with a throw of 45.41m (149-0).
Fedra Florentin won the shot put with a provisional mark of 14.57m (47-9.75) while
Marie Schuler also earned a provisional, winning the hammer with a toss of 53.09m (174-2).
Kylyie Paden won the high jump with a mark of 1.65m (5-5) and finished second in the pole vault, clearing a height of 3.65m (11-11.75).
Federica Dozio also earned a provisional mark in the javelin, tossing 44.23m (145-1) to take second overall.
On the track,
Mary Brown finished second overall in the 3000-meter steeplechase, running a time of 11:27.01 while
Shackelia Green took silver in the 400-meter hurdles at 1:02.40.
The women's 4x100-meter relay team of
Maricia Spence,
Alliyah Harrison,
Kylie Frush and Green crossed the finish line at 46.71 to take second in the event.
The Rams and Rambelles will head to Austin next week as ASU competes at the 97th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays beginning on Thursday, March 27.
