SAN ANGELO, Texas – The 13
th-ranked Rambelles and 18
th-ranked Rams concluded the opening day of the 53
rd Annual David Noble Relays on Thursday at LeGrand Stadium at 1
st Community Credit Union Field.
After day one,
Mark Burdin leads the decathlon with a total score of 3,872 points. He took first overall in three of the five events, throwing 14.73m (48-4) in the shot put, clearing a height of 1.95m (6-4.75) in the high jump, and jumping 7.19m (23-7) in the long jump.
In the women's heptathlon,
Maricia Spence is second overall through the first four events with 3,234 points. She took first-place in the 100-meter hurdles (14.23), the 200m (24.76), and the shot put (11.56m | 37-11).
Kylie Frush is in fourth place with a score of 2,882 points, earning the second fastest time in the 200m at 24.87 while
Gracie Stephens is fifth with 2,663 points after taking third in the shot put with a throw of 10.17m (33-4.5).
The multis will continue tomorrow with the decathlon resuming at 1 p.m., followed the heptathlon at 2 p.m.
