Morrow, Walton Named to LSC Athletic Performance All-Conference Team

Richardson, Texas – Angelo State's Landry Morrow and Xavier Walton were named to the Lone Star Conference Athletic Performance All-Conference Team, the LSC announced this afternoon.

The Athletic Performance All-Conference Team recognizes student-athletes who excel in work ethic, dedication to process, attendance, communication, leadership, and growth. The teams are voted upon by the league's athletic performance staff.
Morrow, a junior guard on the Rambelles' women's basketball team, played 30 games this season, making 12 starts.

"Landry consistently shows up eager to better herself and her teammates," said Brady Connor, the Director of Strength and Conditioning at Angelo State. "She has an unmatched work ethic, which has translated to constant progress from preseason through the end of the spring semester."

The Ackerly native shot 37.2 percent from the field and 83.3 percent from the free-throw line. She scored 4.6 points and assisted 2.2 times per game, helping the Rambelles achieve an 18-12 record this season and advance to the LSC Tournament Semifinals.

"Landry pushes past her comfort zone in the weight room every day, enabling her to achieve what others cannot," said Connor. "She has an amazing attitude and is a great teammate; we all feel lucky to be able to coach her."

Walton, a junior defensive back on the Rams' football team, played in 11 games as the Rams went 9-3, finishing undefeated in LSC play and winning the Lone Star Conference Championship.

"Xavier has had an excellent year from start to finish," said Connor. "He embodies what we believe leads to success in the weight room and on the field."

Walton racked up 45 total tackles, two interceptions, three pass breakups, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, and one blocked kick for a Rams defense that ranked sixth in Division II in points allowed, only conceding 13.1 points per game.

"He never misses or has off days and always finds the time to get better," said Connor. "He has continued to grow as a teammate and young man since being at Angelo State, and we are extremely proud of his progress."
