RICHARDSON, Texas – The Lone Star Conference announced its weekly football honors Monday morning, with Angelo State's
Owen Seaver earning Defensive Player of the Week and
Zeek Freeman receiving Special Teams Player of the Week recognition.
Seaver, a graduate student from Lampasas, Texas, became the second Ram this season to be honored as Defensive Player of the Week. He led the Rams with eight tackles, including three tackles for loss, a sack and a fumble recovery in Saturday night's 31-20 win over Eastern New Mexico.
Freeman, a senior interdisciplinary studies major from Grand Prairie, Texas, was recognized after returning a kickoff 88 yards for a touchdown just 13 seconds after the Greyhounds tied the game at 7. The wide receiver's return marked the first kickoff return for a touchdown in the LSC this season.
The Rams return home Saturday for Family Day, hosting Western New Mexico. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. at LeGrand Stadium at 1st Community Credit Union Field.
