GREENSBORO, N.C. – Postseason accolades for the Angelo State baseball team continued Wednesday morning as
Austin Beck and
Garrett Baumann earned ABCA/Rawlings All-South Central Region Second Team honors, the American Baseball Coaches Association announced.
Beck, a redshirt senior pursuing his MBA, collected his third all-region honor of the season and the ninth regional accolade of his career at Angelo State.
The Allen, Texas, native capped off another historic season by batting .339 with a .449 on-base percentage and a .560 slugging percentage. Beck recorded 74 hits, including 30 extra-base hits, while driving in 62 runs and scoring 69 times.
Earlier this season, Beck became the first player in NCAA Division II history to surpass 300 career runs scored. He also stole 50 bases, setting Angelo State's single-season stolen base record while extending his career program record in the category.
Baumann, a senior majoring in interdisciplinary studies, earned his second all-region selection of the postseason after emerging as one of the Rams' top bullpen arms throughout the year.
The Poth, Texas, native made 25 appearances, compiling a 10-5 record with one save. Across 70.1 innings pitched, Baumann struck out a team-high 72 batters while limiting opponents to a .252 batting average and just 19 extra-base hits.
