GREENWOOD, Ind. – Three members of the Angelo State baseball team were recognized for their accomplishments on the field and in the classroom Tuesday as
Austin Beck,
Jude Stephens and
Garrett Villa earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors.
To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District recognition, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, and meet participation requirements based on games played or started.
Beck, a redshirt senior pursuing his MBA, capped off one of the most decorated careers in program history during the 2026 season. The Allen, Texas, native batted .339 with a .449 on-base percentage and a .560 slugging percentage while collecting 74 hits, including 30 extra-base hits. He also drove in 62 runs and scored 69 times.
Earlier this season, Beck became the first player in NCAA Division II history to surpass 300 career runs scored. He also stole 50 bases, setting Angelo State's single-season record while extending his program career record in the category.
Stephens, a redshirt junior majoring in history, turned in a career-best season on the mound. The Cedar Park, Texas, native appeared in 26 games and logged 31 innings, both career highs. He struck out 27 batters while holding opponents to a .266 batting average.
Villa, a senior accounting major from La Porte, Texas, emerged as one of the Rams' most reliable high-leverage relievers. He led the team with 29 appearances and posted 37 innings of work, allowing just 15 earned runs while striking out 26 batters and limiting opponents to a .275 batting average.
Beck advances to the CSC Academic All-America ballot, with the teams scheduled to be announced on June 23.
