“Incarnate is a tough team,” ASU head coach Chuck Waddington said. “Any team that defends with that much passion is going to be a tough team to beat. If you give them a little bit, they're going to take a lot. We responded a lot better tonight than the we did down there. We came and out and took control of the net.”

Celeste Bonter led the Belles with 18 kills, while Alex Woolsey added 59 assists and 16 digs on the same day she was named the LSC Setter of the Week. Chelsea Gibson finished the game with 14 kills, while Debbie Ohl and Maddie Huth each had 10 kills in the in win.

Stephanie Bonura paced the Lady Cardinals with 16 kills and Lydia Werchan added 26 digs as IWU became only the third team this season to win a set against the Belles at the Junell Center.

The Belles, who have won their last three conference games after falling to West Texas A&M,  are back in action at 7 p.m. on Thursday at Tarleton State.

“Tarleton is playing really well right now,” Bonter said. “Especially being in their home gym, but I think we are ready for them. Everybody is playing really well right now. I think it is going to be a great game.”
