SAN ANGELO
- The Angelo State women's basketball team will make their debut at Stephens Arena in the Junell Center tomorrow night at 6 p.m. against Arlington Baptist.

The Belles are 1-1 after opening the season with a 72-44 win over McMurry followed with a 51-40 loss to St. Mary's. The 28 point victory over McMurry is the biggest margin of victory by a Belle team since beating Eastern New Mexico 66-37 in 2011. Head coach Cayla Petree became the fifth coach in school history to win her opening game.

The game will be the season opener for the Patriots of Arlington Baptist and it will be the first meeting between the two schools.

In the win over McMurry, ASU used a 31-4 to close out the War Hawks on Friday night. Hillari Adam, the team's leading scorer at 14.5 points per game, scored a career high 24 in the win. She was held to five points on Saturday against St. Mary's but grabbed six rebounds on the night.

Karli Kellermeier did a little bit of everything over the weekend. The junior made eight steals in the two games and led the team in the category both nights. She was the team 's leading rebounder on Saturday. The Wall native added 10 points on Friday and eight points on Saturday.

The team's leading scorer against St. Mary's, Amanda Weaver, is tied for second on the team in scoring at eight points per game.

The Belles have limited teams to 34.5-percent shooting including 25.6-percent from behind the arc. The scoring advantage is 63-47 in favor of ASU in the second half with the Belles averaging 56.0 points per game as a team.

Ten players have scored so far in the two games for the Belles with six scoring at least five points or more.

ASU went 7-4 at home last season. It will be the first of two games this week as the Belles will travel to Abilene Christian on Thursday for an exhibition game.
