Belles Look to Keep Win Streak Going Against Midwestern State

SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Angelo State women's basketball team will look to keep its two-game winning streak going against Midwestern State on Saturday at 4 p.m. in Wichita Falls.

The Belles moved to 10-12 and 7-9 in LSC play after defeating Cameron, 60-50, on Wednesday night. ASU is 3-5 on the road for the season and have dropped its last five away from the Junell Center.

ASU was 3-0 on the road heading in to 2013 but have yet to win one since the New Year. The Belles have struggled scoring in the last five road games averaging only 54.8 points per game. Angelo State is hitting 41.2-percent of its shot which is higher than its season average of 40-percent but team defense is down.

Opponents are scoring 66.6 points per game and teams are shooting 46.7-percent from the floor and 40.7-percent from 3-pointers. The Belles are holding teams to 36.2-percent from the field and 31.2-percent from 3-points on the season.

The Belles have started slow in the first half in the last five road games only scoring 22.6 points per game compared to allowing 32.6 points per game.

The first game between these two was a 69-59 win for Midwestern State in Stephens Arena. Lauren Holt was the only Belle in double figures with 16 points. The Mustangs shot 42.3-percent from the field and had three players score in double digits.

The game will be carried locally on 1260AM KKSA with Jeremy Bryant on the call.
