SAN ANGELO - The Angelo State men's basketball team will look to improve their record on the road this weekend as they travel to UT Permian Basin and Western New Mexico.
Antonio Singleton is coming off the best week of his career, as he averaged 28 points while shooting 18-29 from the field and 13-22 from the three point line in two games against Eastern New Mexico and West Texas A&M. He added in 7.5 rebounds and two assists per contest. For the season, he is averaging 14.5 points and 4.1 rebounds per game while shooting 50 percent from the field and 47 percent from three point range.
Daron Mims and Ronald Bell are both averaging 11.9 points per game this season to join Singleton in double figures. Bell averages 6.6 rebounds per contest and Mims averages 2.2. Kiair Crouch has come on strong lately and is coming off a career high performance against West Texas A&M where he scored 18 points. On the season, Crouch is averaging 8.9 points and 2.7 assists per game while shooting 36 percent from the three point line.
Josh Boutte has been a consistent presence down low as he is averaging 8.4 points and a team leading 6.9 rebounds per contest. He leads the team in shooting percentage at 55 percent. James Kirksey has been an all around contributor all season, averaging 7.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 2.3 steals per game. Collin Turner and Paul Williams have provided stability at the guard position all season. They combine to average just under 14 points and four rebounds per game while both having a positive assist to turnover ratio.
UT Permian Basin comes into this week with a record of 10-5 (3-2 Lone Star Conference) and is coming off a win at Cameron.
Western New Mexico comes into the week with a record of 3-9 (0-5 Lone Star Conference) and having lost eight consecutive games.
