SAN ANGELO – The Belles' Sophia Berg was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District First Team for her efforts in the classroom, the organization announced on Thursday.

Berg, a senior from Georgetown, Texas, has a 4.0 GPA while majoring in Biology. Berg, a three-time LSC All-Academic selection, was named the league's Academic Player of the Year on Wednesday night.

On the court for the Belles this season, the middle blocker has racked up 196 kills, hitting .232 on the season.

Berg and the Belles will find out what their postseason slate is on the NCAA's selection show, which will air this Monday at 6:30 p.m.
