SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Angelo State Rambelle golf team finished in a tie for first place at the 2022 Concho River Classic, falling just short in a tiebreaker with Texas A&M International to earn runner-up at Bentwood Country Club on Tuesday.
Down four strokes with two holes to play, the Belles came back to tie the Dustdevils, shooting a score of 611 as a team.
Maria Sierra Sanz took home the individual title with a total score of 149, shooting 76 in round one and 73 in round two.
Texas A&M International shot 611 as a team, winning the playoff to take the team title while Western Texas CC finished third with a score of 622.
Also placing in the top three individually was
Patrizia Schaefer with a score of 151 (76, 75) while
Ozlyan Juarez finished in 10
th (73, 83 – 156).
The Belles picked up head-to-head wins over three other Lone Star Conference opponents in Cameron (4
th), Lubbock Christian (5
th), and Texas A&M – Kingsville (6
th).
