PITTSBURG, Kan. – In the first indoor meet of the season for the Angelo State track & field teams, the Rambelles claimed seven provisional marks and a program record at the Boo Rogers Combined Events hosted by Pittsburg State.
Competing in the pentathlon,
Maricia Spence finished first overall with a provisional score of 4,112 points, setting a new program record as well as a new Lone Star Conference record. She finished first in the 60-meter hurdles (8.58), first in the shot put (13.69m |44'-11"), and first in the long jump (6.01m | 19'-8.5"), all three of which were provisional marks. Spence is now seventh all-time in Division II in the pentathlon.
Also earning provisional marks for the Belles was
Abby Zamzow with 3,792 points to take fourth overall, finishing second in the long jump with a provisional mark of 5.98m (19'-7.5"), and
Anna Riccomagno with 3,749 points to earn fifth.
On the men's side, Mark Burdin leads the Rams in the heptathlon after day one with a total of 2,960 points, sitting in sixth overall with three events to go tomorrow. Following him is
Kyle Lumpkins in 10
th with 2,778 points and Benjamin Blomqvist in 17
th with 2,143 points.
The heptathlon continues tomorrow at 9 a.m., beginning with the 60-meter hurdles followed by the pole vault and the 1,000-meter run.
