Sierra Sanz Named to All-LSC First Team

THACKERVILLE, Okla. – With the LSC Championships set to kick off tomorrow morning, Maria Sierra Sanz was selected to the Lone Star Conference First Team, the organization announced Sunday evening.

Sierra Sanz has picked up two individual titles this season at the Concho River Classic back in September, and more recently in March at the King Alfred Spring Invitational. The Interdisciplinary Studies major has been a key contributor in each of the four tournaments this spring where the Rambelles have finished in the top four each time. The senior has averaged a 75 in her ten rounds this spring, and a 75.2 for the entire season (20 rounds).

Sierra Sanz was named an LSC Honorable Mention last season, but makes the first team this season as she is currently the 42 ranked individual golfer in Division II. After the most recent regional rankings, the Rambelles sit as the 12th ranked team in the West Region, which takes the top-12 teams to the regional. Sierra Sanz and the Rambelles look to put together a strong performance to keep a place in the regional locked in.
