ABILENE, Texas – The Angelo State track & field teams competed in several events on Friday on the opening day of the Wes Kittley Invitational hosted by Abilene Christian.
For the Rambelles,
Tiamara Hill-Johnson finished fourth overall in the discus throw, hitting a mark of 44.81m (147-00) while
Landri Sagebiel (36.09 | 118-5) and
Kamryn Williams (35.91 | 117-09) finished 14
th and 15th respectively.
Mary Brown took fifth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, crossing the finish line in 11:31.70.
Anna Eischen ran the 1,500-meter run in 5:01.71 to finish 11
th while
Marina Grimaldo took 16
th in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 20:14.79.
On the men's side,
Emmanuel Serna and Wes Rogers earned fourth and fifth respectively in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, running times of 10:15.73 and 10:32.19.
Austin Souther finished 18
th in the 1,500-meter run at 4:12.40 while
Tate Hughes crossed at 4:15.56 to take 24
th.
Luis Alvarado tossed a mark of 52.41m (171-11) to finish fourth in the javelin and
Cole Paxton was eighth in the discus, throwing a mark of 44.86 (147-02).
The meet continues tomorrow with the field events beginning at noon with the pole vault while the running events begin at 2 p.m. with the 4x100-meter relay.
