SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Angelo State track & field teams wrapped up the final day of the Trinity Invitational to finish the first outdoor meet of the year, winning seven events on Saturday at the Trinity Multi-Purpose Stadium.
The Rambelles swept the top three spots in the women's pole vault as
Katelyn Bohensky finished first overall, clearing a height of 3.50m (11'-5.75") while
Kylyie Paden and
Camryn Barros tied for second at 3.35m (11'-0").
Maggie Morales won the triple jump, hitting a distance of 11.66m (38'-3") while
Tiamara Hill-Johnson took first in the discus with a toss of 43.43m (142'-6").
Landri Sagebiel finished third in both the shot put and the discus, throwing 12.23m (40'-1.5") and 39.59m (129'-11") respectively.
The Belles also swept the 400-meter hurdles with
Averie Griffith taking first at 1:03.34 followed by
Allison Vaughn at 1:03.89 and
Kylie Frush at 1:03.96.
Alliyah Harrison won the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.04 and took second in the 100-meter dash, running a time of 12.30.
In the 100-meter hurdles, Griffith finished second at 14.42 followed by
Ariyah Samuels in third at 14.56 and Vaughn in fifth at 15.05.
Mary Brown took fourth overall in the 5,000-meter run, crossing the finish line at 18:32.44 while
Anna Eischen took sixth at 18:34.32.
The 4x400-meter relay team of Harrison, Frush, Griffith, and Vaughn combined for the top time, finishing at 3:52.52.
On the men's side,
David Morgan was the top finisher in the 100-meter dash, running a time of 10.48 to earn a provisional mark while
Dorian Leda took sixth at 10.86. Morgan also finished third in the 200-meter dash at 21.65.
Romel Plummer was the fastest finisher in the 400-meter hurdles, crossing the finish line at 53.55 while
Brad Humphreys (55.27) and Ruden Davila (56.00) finished fifth and sixth respectively.
The 4x400-meter relay team of
Ben Blomqvist,
Breylin Butler, Plummer, and Davila finished second overall, combining for a time of 3:19.96.
In the javelin,
Luis Alvarado took third, throwing a distance of 59.11m (193'-11") to earn a provisional while
Kyle Lumpkins finished third in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.08.
The ASU track and field teams will head to Pittsburg, Kan., to wrap up the indoor season at the 2024 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships beginning Friday, Mar. 8.
