Women's Tennis Will Burrow, Assistant Director of Athletic Communications

Rambelles Return Home to Face Cameron, UAFS

San Angelo, Texas - The Angelo State women's tennis team returns home after a month as they host No. 24 Cameron on Friday and UAFS on Saturday. 
 
The Rambelles are coming off a spring break trip to Orlando, where they went undefeated, winning against Sioux Falls 6-1, Emporia State 7-0, and Slippery Rock 5-2.
 
Letizia Corsini, the Rambelles top singles player, is 10-0 this season and ranked No.23 in the nation. She is also 11-0 in doubles. Christine Jevicky is 9-1 this season in singles, and Ayda Guler is 9-3.
 
At No.1 doubles, Avery Durham and Eva Schwartz are 9-3 and ranked 21st in the nation. The pairing of Letizia Corsini and Ayda Guler is leading the way for the Rambelles, who are 11-0 to this point in the season. At No.3 doubles, the newly formed pairing of Alexandra Vishnevskaya and Mieke Van Deventer are 4-0 in doubles play.
 
Cameron comes into this match after a 0-2 week, which they lost to the University of Nebraska at Kearney 0-4 and Hawaii Pacific 1-4 to move their record to 3-4 to this point in the season. Vasilisa Plunova leads the way for Cameron as she is ranked 26th nationally, and her record this year is 4-4.  The pairing of Vasilisa Polunova and Magda Wawrowska are 3-4 this season in doubles play.
 
Rambelles lead the all-time series 5-2, winning the last match 4-3 on April 21st, 2023.
 
UAFS comes into this match after a 1-3 week in which they beat Newman 4-3, lost to Southeastern State 1-6, Northwest Missouri State 0-4, and Central Oklahoma 0-7. UAFS is 2-10 coming into this weekend matchup. Petra Csizmadia leads the way for the Lions, as she is 3-8 in singles play to this point in the season. The pairing of Camila Romero and Taylor Conway is the best pairing for UAFS, as they are 3-7 to this point in the season.
 
Angelo State leads the all-time series 3-0, winning the last match 7-0 on March 9th, 2023.
