PITTSBURG, Kan. – The Angelo State track & field teams concluded the indoor season with the final day of the 2024 NCAA Division II Indoor National Championships as the Rambelles finished eighth overall and the Rams took 14
th at the Robert W. Plaster Center.
The Rams finished with 15 points in the team totals while the Rambelles tallied 21 points. ASU sent 15 athletes to the national meet with every athlete scoring at least one point in the meet.
On Saturday,
Elvis Kryukov concluded the heptathlon in third place, finishing with 5,557 points, setting a new personal best and earning First-Team All-American. Behind him was
Mark Burdin who also earned All-American with a PR, finishing eighth with 5,414 points.
Jacobee Jones earned fourth overall in the pole vault on his way to All-American, clearing a height of 5.24m (17-2.25). Also earning All-American in the triple jump was
Josh Body who jumped a personal best of 15.32m (50-3.25).
The 4x400-meter relay team of
Prince Frimpong,
Max Wassmer,
Bossman Pinkrah, and
Tristan Guerrero combined for a time of 3:12.24 to finish eighth overall, earning All-American.
For the Rambelles,
Maricia Spence earned First-Team All-American honors in the heptathlon along with
Anna Riccomagno. Spence finished with 3,876 points to take third while Riccomagno had 3,864, a personal record, to take sixth overall.
Abby Zamzow finished 12
th overall, earning Second-Team All-American with 3,636 points.
Fatoumata Kabo earned All-American after taking fourth overall in the 400-meter dash, running a time of 53.63.
Kabo, along with
Zykia McDaniel,
Jacent Nyamahunge and
Shadae Findley also earned All-American in the 4x400-meter relay, finishing third overall with a time of 3:39.79
ASU collected 16 First-Team All-American accolades during the two-day meet while adding three Second-Team All-Americans.
