Women's Tennis Will Burrow, Assistant Director of Athletic Communications

No. 18 Rambelles Earns Road Victory over UT Tyler

Tyler, Texas - The No.18 Rambelles pull out a tough one on the road, defeating UT Tyler 4-3.
 
With the victory, The Rambelles move to 18-2 overall and 8-1 in Lone Star Conference action. The Patriots fall to 5-17 overall and 2-7 in conference play.
 
The dominant pairing of Ayda Guler and Letizia Corsini got things going for the Rambelles as they won the first doubles match on court two 6-2 over the pairing of Elisa Buhagiar and Kanika Sivaraman, moving their doubles record to 17-2.
 
The No.16 doubles pairing Avery Durham and Eva Schwartz would continue their strong form as they would win 7-6 (7-2) at No.1 doubles to clinch the doubles point for the Belles.
 
Mieke Van Deventer and Alexandra Vishnevskaya would continue their run of form at No.3 doubles as they would win 7-5, improving their doubles record to 11-1 overall.
 
Ayda Guler would get things started in the singles portion for the Rambelles as she would give the Rambelles a 2-0 advantage after defeating Anna Melnik 6-2, 6-1.
 
Eva Schwartz would fall short on court two as she would fall to Allison Schwartz 7-5, 6-2 to make it 2-1 in favor of the Rambelles.
 
Christine Jevicky would continue her dominance at court four as she would get the best of Yelena Kim 6-2, 6-3, and extending her match win streak to 14.
 
 The No. 8th ranked Letizia Corsini would extend her unbeaten streak to 18 matches as she got the best of Muskan Gupta 6-2, 6-3 to clinch the victory for the Rambelles. 
Jessica Li would fall short in three sets, 3-6, 6-2, 4-6, to make it 4-2 in favor of the Rambelles.
 
At line six Alexandra Vishnevskaya would fall short to Luisa Moraes 6-1, 3-6, (7-10) to make the final score 4-3.
 
With the victory, the Rambelles extend the win streak vs UT Tyler to 3 matches.
 
The No. 18 Rambelles will be back in action tomorrow as they face DBU in the regular season finale, with first serve scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
