EMPORIA, Kan. – The Angelo State track & field teams wrapped up the first day on the 2024 NCAA Division II Outdoor National Championships, recording several qualifying times.
Fatoumata Kabo recorded the fastest time in the prelims of the 400-meter hurdles, running a time of 57.42 to advance to finals.
In the 400-meter dash,
Shadae Findley earned the second fastest time in the prelims to secure a spot in the finals, crossing the finish line in 52.93.
After day one of the decathlon,
Mark Burdin sits in sixth place overall, totaling 3,895 points after finishing second in the shot put and fourth the high jump.
Through four events of the heptathlon,
Maricia Spence is 13
th overall with 3,119 points while
Anna Riccomagno is 16
th with 2,947 points.
The Belles' 4x100-meter relay team took 12
th overall as
Kylie Frush, Kabo,
Alliyah Harrison, and
Zykia McDaniel ran a time of 45.60.
Abby Zamzow finished 14
th in the long jump with a mark of 5.85m (19-2.5) while
Kylyie Paden took 16
th in the pole vault, clearing height of 3.70m (12-1.50).
The meet continues tomorrow with the decathlon resuming at 9:30 a.m., and the heptathlon at 10:30 a.m.
