DALLAS, Texas – The Angelo State University's second baseman continues to impress early in the 2026 campaign as
Austin Beck has been named the South Central Regional Hitter of the Week as announced by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association on Wednesday morning.
Beck, a redshirt senior from Allen, Texas, notched this award for the second consecutive week after hitting .563 (9-for-16) with two doubles, nine RBI and was 8-for-8 on stolen bases to lead the Rams to a series win over Oklahoma Christian. He most recently came off winning the Lone Star Conference's Hitter of the Week award for the second straight week.
The MBA candidate, who is also the reigning National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association National Hitter of the Week, has hit safely in 13 of 14 games this season. He has a .491 batting average and leads the league in hits (28), RBI (28), doubles (10), runs (24) and stolen bases (15).
Beck and the No. 18 Rams will compete in a top-25 matchup against No. 23 St. Mary's beginning on Friday, Feb. 27 with the first pitch scheduled on 6 p.m.
