SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State women's basketball team will play its final home game of the season at Stephens Arena in the Junell Center on Saturday at 2p.m. against Cameron.
The Belles (13-11, 7-7 LSC) will honor
Tatiana Haynes,
Rochelle Norris and
Leah LeMaire,
Haylee Oliver,
Karli Kellermeier and
Hillari Adam in their final home game of their careers.
ASU is scoring 60.0 points per game this season while holding opponent to 59.8 points. At home, the Belles increase their scoring to 61.5 points per game while limiting teams to 56.1 points. Angelo State has forced 17.1 turnovers per game this season and 9.3 steals while limiting its turnovers to 16.0 per game.
The Belles, the winners of three-straight at home, have a 7-4 overall record at Stephens Arena and are 5-2 against LSC opponents. ASU shoots better at home (39.5-percent) while also forcing 18.5 turnovers and outrebounding teams 38.5-36.5.
The first half has been key for ASU outscoring opponents 697-659 overall and 335-280 at home. The Belles are 11-1 this season when leading at halftime and 7-0 at the Junell Center.
Adam, a junior that will graduate early, will be one of six recognized before the game. The Wall native has led the Belles in scoring and rebounds with 12.3 points per game and 6.6 rebounds. Adam is ninth in the league in scoring and seventh in rebounds. She recorded her third double-double of the season against Midwestern State and has scored double digits in 15 games this season.
Norris, a senior from Dallas, has been second on the team in scoring with 9.0 points per game. During her only seasons at ASU, Norris scored in double figures 13 times. She scored 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds in the first game with Cameron.
Leah LeMaire will play in her 101
st career game as a Belle on Saturday. This season she has scored 7.6 points per game with 4.8 rebounds. The Corpus Christi native has averaged 8.0 points per game over her career and 3.8 rebounds. Â She recorded 15 points and 11 rebounds for her first double-double of the season in the first matchup with Cameron.
Kellermeier, who will graduate early, has scored 6.8 points per game this season and is the team's leader with 40 steals. She is currently seventh in the league in steals at 1.7 per game. Offensively, 2013-14 has been her most productive as the Wall native has a career average of 4.4 points per game. Kellermeier set a career high with 21 points against ENMU and tied a career high with 14 points against Tarleton State.
Haylee Oliver, a junior graduating early, has scored 3.9 points per game this season and leads the team with 73 assists. The San Saba native is 11
th in the league with 3.0 steals per game. Oliver has averaged 8.9 points during her career and 5.2 rebounds. She has played in 78 games and averaged 28.5 minutes.
Haynes is a senior from Pontiac, Mich., and has averaged 5.1 points per game. She scored a season high 16 points against Texas A&M-Kingsville and has started one game this season.
Amanda Weaver, the team's leading 3-point shooter, has scored 8.6 points this season and 8.3 at home. The Center Point native has made 40.2-percent from behind the arc and totaled 47 3-pointers this season.
Rosewell has started the last 11 games for the Belles and is averaging 3.3 points per game. She is second on the team with 57 assists and has 24 steals on the year.
Cameron is 12-12 on the season and 4-10 in the LSC. The Aggies have won three of their last four games and average 70.4 points per game. CU is led by Jazzmine Robinson's 12.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per game.
In the first meeting this season, ASU had four players score in double figures led by LeMaire's 15 poitns and 11 rebounds. The Belles hit 49.1-percent from the field and outrebounded the Aggies 33-29.
ASU has a 26-18 series advantage and have won eight of the last 10. The Belles have won the last four in San Angelo and the last time Cameron won in San Angelo was in 2006.
