Belles Host Eastern New Mexico in LSC Matchup at the Junell Center

SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State women's basketball team returns home to play Eastern New Mexico on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Stephens Arena in the Junell Center
 
The Belles dropped to 11-9 and 5-5 in the Lone Star Conference after a 95-56 defeat at No. 5 West Texas A&M but have won two of their last three games. ASU dropped to No. 2 in scoring defense with its 59.3 per game after giving up a season-high 95 points. The Belles are 9-0 when leading at halftime and 2-9 on the season when trailing at half.
 
ASU was held to 32.2-percent shooting from the floor and committed 15 turnovers. For the season, the Belles are shooting 39-percent from the field and are second in the league limiting opponents to the 37.5-percent shooting. Opponents are hitting a better percentage from the 3-point line at 33.2-percent compared to 30.6-percent for the Belles.
 
The Belles are 5-4 at home this season and are limiting opponents to 57.6 points per game. ASU is averaging 30.6 points per game in the first half while opponents only score 25.8 per game. The Belles shoot better at home than their opponents (38.7 to 36.6) while also grabbing more rebounds (38.9-37.8) and forcing more turnovers (16.6-18.0).
 
Hillari Adam led the Belles with 16 points against West Texas A&M. It is the 11th game of the year for Adam to score in double figures. The Wall native is tops on the team in scoring at 12.2 per game. The 16 points is the first double figures game since Midwestern State and most since 18 against Schreiner in December.
 
Tatiana Haynes, who had scored double-digits in the previous four games, was limited to just two points. The senior is sixth on the team in scoring at 5.3 per game but scores 7.5 per game in conference game and 5.8 at the Junell Center. The Pontiac, Mich., native was the Belles leading scorer with 11 the last time against Eastern New Mexico.
 
Rochelle Norris had her streak of four-straight double digit scoring games broke with seven against West Texas A&M. The senior is second on the team in scoring with 9.0 points per game but is the top option in conference games at 10.3 points per game. The Dallas native has scored 9.2 and grabbed 5.1 rebounds at home this season. She was second on the team with 10 points against the Zias.
 
Karli Kellermeier scored 11 points for the second-straight game. The junior averages 6.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. She is the Belles leader in steals with 28. She added nine points against ENMU in only 19 minutes.
 
Amanda Weaver, who scored eight points in the first meeting with ENMU, is scoring 8.5 per game. The Center Point native has hit 38.7-percent from the 3-point line and totaled 36 this season.  The sophomore scores 8.1 per game during conference games but only 7.3 at home.
 
Michelle Rosewell is second on the team with 45 assists and has started the last seven games. She is averaging 3.1 per game but has increased it to 4.9 per game during conference games. The Grapevine native has 20 steals this year with 12 coming at home.
 
Haylee Oliver, who is ninth in the league at 3.1 assists per game, is scoring 4.5 point in conference games. She has a season average of 3.8 per game but its tops on the team with 61 assists and 11 blocks.
 
Eastern New Mexico has a 6-12 overall record and 4-5 in conference play. The Zias have dropped their last four games and last won in San Angelo on Feb. 8, 2012. Jasmine Johnson and Tori Tucker are leading ENMU with 10.6 points per game and 10.3 per game, respectively.
 
The Zias limited the Belles to 30.5-percent from the field in the first game. A total of five players scored in double figures and ENMU excelled from the 3-point line hitting 44.4-percent.
