SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State women's basketball team will head to Wichita Falls for a Lone Star Conference game on Wednesday, Jan. 21 to face Midwestern State at 5:30 p.m. at Ligon Coliseum.
The Belles are 5-10 and 0-5 in the LSC and will be trying to snap a five-game losing streak. ASU is coming off a 65-56 loss to ENMU that saw the Zias rally late for the win. The Belles are  1-4 on the road this season and scoring 63.1 points per game.
Angelo State has continued to shoot better than opponent from the field (.395-.381) and from the 3-point line (.329-.292). The Belles 3-point field goal percentage defense and field goal percentage defense are both No. 2 in the conference this season.
ASU has been to out rebound teams 40.3-38.7 on the season but have lost the rebounding battle in three of the last four games. The Belles have been able to outscore opponents in the first half 451-441 overall but the trend is reversed as opponents outscore ASU 541-495 in the second half.

Jasmine Caston and
Amanda Weaver have led the Belles in the scoring category at 14.1 and 10.7 points per game. Both scored 10 point against ENMU. It was Caston's 12
th game in double figures and fourth in her last five. The sophomore scored a season-high 26 in the win over CSU-Pueblo. Weaver added her 10
th game of double figures. The junior has made at least two 3-pointers in the last nine games. Caston leads the team with 22 steals while Weaver is tops with 35 assists.
Diamalises Rivera had a breakout game against ENMU. The junior transfer scored a season-high 14 points. It is her second game in double figures after scoring 11 points at St. Mary's. She is averaging 6.6 points per game and is 3.5 rebounds.
Shauna Coleman is third on the team in scoring at 6.6 points per game. The freshman has scored in double figures in four games. She is tops on the team with 5.5 rebounds per game. Fellow Freshman
KeAnna Kelly and Keitta Saunders are both receiving experience in conference games. Kelly is scoring 3.7 points after a career-high 15 points against Texas A&M-Commerce. She has four steals and seven assists on the seasons. Saunders scored her career-high seven points at West Texas A&M. She has seen action in all 15 games this season while handing out 11 assists.
Newcomers
Leila Jdily-Ezzad and
Minja Savic are playing in 15.8 and 13.1 minutes per game, respectively. Jdily-Ezzad is averaging 3.7 points per game with 10 assists while Savic scored 2.0 points per game.
Michelle Rosewell, a starter in 13 games this season, is second on the team with 31 assists. She also made 15 steals and grabs 2.5 rebounds per game.
Midwestern State enters with a 13-3 record overall and a 4-2 record in the LSC. The Mustangs are 8-2 at home but have lost the last two overall. MSU is led by Noel Johnson in her seventh season in Wichita Falls.
Dianna Jones and Andrea Carter lead the way for the Mustangs. Jones scored 14.1 points per game while Carter is averaging 13.1 per game and 9.6 rebounds. MSU scored 69.2 points per game while limiting opponents to 58.8 (No. 1 LSC scoring defense). Â
Midwestern State holds a 29-28 overall advantage in the series and have won the last three. The Belles last won in Wichita Falls in February of 2013.
