SAN ANGELO, Texas – Following a 1-1 road trip in conference play last week, the Angelo State women's basketball team hits the road once more to face UT Permian Basin in a Lone Star Conference contest on Friday before hosting Schreiner in a non-conference game on Monday.

NEED TO KNOW
- The Rambelles split a pair of contests on the road last week, dropping a tight contest to UAFS, 65-63, before routing Oklahoma Christian 78-61.
- Tayjanna McGhee-Pleasant leads the Rambelles in scoring, her 15.6 points per game currently ranks fourth most in the LSC.
- Sawyer Lloyd (10th), Payton Brown (11th), and Madeline Stephens (14th) also rank top 15 in points per game in the LSC, averaging 14.3, 14.3, 13.8 respectively.
- Lloyd also ranks fourth, averaging 2.4 steals and 4.7 assists per contest. Her 2.3 assist-turnover ratio is the top mark in the conference.
- Stephens also ranks seventh in the conference in rebounding, averaging a team best 7.8 boards per game and is the conference leader in field goal percentage (.584).
- The Rambelles are averaging 71.8 points per game, shooting 42.1 percent from the field and 71.6 percent from the free throw line.
- The 71.8 points currently ranks as the fourth best mark in the LSC, while the Rambelles hold opponents to 64.8 points a game (12th in the LSC).
- The Rambelles love to clean up the offensive glass, averaging the third most offensive rebounds per game in the conference with 14.2.
- Stephens and Lloyd were named the Lone Star Conference offensive and defensive players of the week following their efforts in the wins over TAMUK, TAMIU in week four.
- McGhee-Pleasant scored 21 points and pulled in eight rebounds as she was named the Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week in the third week of the season.
- Brown had a 13-point, six rebound, and three steal game that saw her honored as the Lone Star Conference Defensive Player of the Week after the Rambelles upset win over Eckerd College in week three.
- Lloyd averaged 22 points and eight rebounds as she was named the Lone Star Conference offensive player of the week in week one.
ANGELO STATE vs UT PERMIAN BASIN
- The Rambelles hold the series advantage over the Falcons, 12-6, including victories in three of the last four contests.
- Brown, Lloyd, Stephens, McGhee-Pleasant, and Blakely Gerber all scored in double figures in the teams only game last season that saw the Rambelles victorious 71-55.
- UTPB is 6-4 heading into the matchup with the Rambelles, they went 2-0 on the road facing the same opponents, a 71-52 victory over UAFS and a 68-53 win over Oklahoma Christian.
- The Falcon's only conference loss so far is to Texas A&M-Kingsville, 65-55 at home.
- Andreea Mancha and Holly Hemmeline spearhead the Falcons offense as they average 14.4 and 12.3 points per game, respectively.
- Alexus Quaadman is the leading rebounder for the falcons as she grabs 8.2 boards a contest to go along with 7.8 points. She put up a double-double in their most recent victory over UAFS with10 points and13 rebounds.
ANGELO STATE vs SCHREINER
- The Rambelles are undefeated all-time against the Mountaineers, holding a 4-0 record over Schreiner (last meeting was in 2013).
- The Mountaineers are 5-5 on the season and will face Incarnate Word and LSC foe St. Mary's before heading to San Angelo early next week.
- Schreiner has a potent offense, averaging 79.0 points per game, shooting 39.6 percent from the field and 32 percent from beyond the arc.
- Demauria Miles leads the way for the Mountaineers as she averages 16.4 points per game, shooting 41.9 percent from the field.
- Gabby Ivarra is the teams leading rebounder as she grabs 7.3 boards per contest.
- Elisa Peralta dishes out a team-best 4.4 assists per contest.
