NEED TO KNOW
- The Rambelles went 2-0 in the weeks leading into the winter break after defeating UTPB 68-59 and Schreiner 101-65 with a season high in points scored.
- Tayjanna McGhee-Pleasant and Sawyer Lloyd lead the Rambelles in scoring, each averaging 15.5 points per game, ranking third most in the LSC.
- Madeline Stephens also ranks in the top 10 in scoring, contributing 14.5 points per game. Stephens is the most efficient scorer in the conference as she leads the LSC with a .583 field goal percentage.
- Lloyd leads the conference in assists, dishing out 4.9 assists per game, her 2.3 assist/turnover ratio is the second highest mark at 2.3.
- Both Lloyd and Stephens rank fifth in the conference in rebounding, pulling down 7.9 boards per contest.
- The Rambelles are averaging 74.1 points per game, shooting 41.9 percent from the field (5th in LSC), 28 percent from three (14th) and 71.3 percent from the free throw line (9th).
- The 74.1 points per contest is the best mark in the LSC, defensively, the Rambelles hold opponents to 64.3 points a game, ranking in the bottom half of the conference (11th).
- The Rambelles love to clean up the glass, averaging the most rebounds per game in the conference with 45.5, including the fourth most offensive rebounds (15.1 per contest).
- Lloyd earned her third LSC player of the week honor after wins over UTPB and Schreiner before the winter break. This included a contest with a career high 17 rebounds (vs UTPB) followed up by a season high six steal game against Schreiner.
- Stephens and Lloyd were named the Lone Star Conference offensive and defensive players of the week following their efforts in the wins over TAMUK, TAMIU in week four.
- McGhee-Pleasant scored 21 points and pulled in eight rebounds as she was named the Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week in the third week of the season.
- Brown had a 13-point, six rebound, and three steal game that saw her honored as the Lone Star Conference Defensive Player of the Week after the Rambelles upset win over Eckerd College in week three.
- Lloyd averaged 22 points and eight rebounds as she was named the Lone Star Conference offensive player of the week in week one.
ANGELO STATE vs WESTERN NEW MEXICO
- The Mustangs took the winter break for all it was worth, they had lost their previous four games (all LSC games) going into it.
- WMNU fell to St. Mary's, St. Edward's, UT Tyler, and Texas Woman's, losing each game by less than 10 points.
- The Rambelles lead the all-time series 10-2 over the Mustangs and have won the last 10 meetings dating back to the 2015 season.
- Last season the Rambelles used a balanced scoring attack to down the Mustangs in Silver City, 61-53.
- Three Mustangs average double figures, led by Diamond Moore and Sydney Wright who score 13.1 and 12.6 point per game respectively.
- Susi Namoa scored 14 points in the only game she has appeared in against UT Tyler on the 17th of December.
ANGELO STATE vs EASTERN NEW MEXICO
- The Grayhounds head to San Angelo losers of their last two contests and 5-4 on the season overall.
- ENMU lost a tight game 64-62 to the number 23 ranked team in DII, Texas Woman's, in Portales in their last action before the break.
- The Rambelles have the advantage in the long history between the two sides, 46-27 all-time.
- The two sides have split the previous four contests, with the Rambelles winning last season 78-61 behind 20 points from Payton Brown.
- The Grayhounds offense runs through junior Deja Adrian. She ranks second in the conference, scoring 17.6 points per contest. She also leads the team in rebounding, pulling down 7.9 per contest.
