- The Rambelles extended their winning streak to four after beating both teams from New Mexico last week, downing ENMU 79-74 and WNMU 56-52 at Stephens Arena at the Junell Center.
- Tayjanna McGhee-Pleasant leads the Rambelles in scoring, her 16.2 points per game currently ranks third most in the Lone Star Conference.
- Sawyer Lloyd (7th) and Madeline Stephens (10th) also rank top 10 in the LSC averaging 14.8 and 13.9 points per game respectively.
- The Rambelles have made rebounding a staple in the way they play, leading the conference and ranking 14th in the nation averaging 43.0 boards per game.
- Stephens (4th), Lloyd (5th), and McGhee-Pleasant (6th) each rank in the top 10 in rebounding individually, averaging 8.0, 7.8, and 7.8 boards per game.
- The trio also all rank top eight in field goal percentage, led by Stephens' .531, the second-best mark in the LSC.
- Lloyd also ranks first in the assist's category, averaging 5.0 per game, her 2.1 assist-turnover ratio is the best mark in the conference.
- Lloyd ranks 20th in NCAA DII with her 5.0 assists per game and is 12th in assists with 105. She also ranks seventh in steals with 67 and is ninth in steals per game averaging 3.19.
- Lloyd, McGhee-Pleasant, and freshman Keniah Williams also both rank top 10 in the LSC in defensive categories, Lloyd is first in steals, averaging 3.2 per game, McGhee-Pleasant is ninth in blocks, averaging 1.1 per contest, and Williams ranks seventh in blocks, averaging 1.2 a contest.
- The Rambelles are averaging 69.1 points per game, shooting 41.1 percent from the field (6th), 28.5 percent from three (13th), and 67.7 percent from the free throw line (12th).
- The 69.1 points per contest is the fourth best mark in the LSC, on the defensive end, the Rambelles hold opponents to 61.0 points a game (9th in the LSC).
- As a team the Rambelles hold opponents to a 34.2 clip from the field, that is the ninth best ranking in NCAA DII women's basketball.
- Lloyd and McGhee-Pleasant were named the LSC defensive and offensive players of the week after the Rambelles downed West Texas A&M and Lubbock Christian. This is Lloyds third consecutive defensive player of the week and her fifth overall.
- Lloyd was recognized with her fourth player of the week honor after filling up the stat sheets against Eastern and Western New Mexico. She averaged 15 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 3.5 steals, being named the defensive player of the week for the third time.
- Lloyd earned her third LSC player of the week honor after wins over UTPB and Schreiner before the winter break. This included a contest with a career high 17 rebounds (vs UTPB) followed up by a season high six steal game against Schreiner.
- Stephens and Lloyd were named the Lone Star Conference offensive and defensive players of the week following their efforts in the wins over TAMUK, TAMIU in week four.
- Tayjanna McGhee-Pleasant scored 21 points and pulled in eight rebounds as she was named the Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week in the third week of the season.
- Payton Brown had a 13-point, six rebound, and three steal game that saw her honored as the Lone Star Conference Defensive Player of the Week after the Rambelles upset win over Eckerd College in week three.
- Lloyd averaged 22 points and eight rebounds as she was named the Lone Star Conference offensive player of the week in week one.
ANGELO STATE vs LUBBOCK CHRISTIAN
- The Lady Chaps enter Thursday's contest 15-7 on the season, currently sitting fourth in the LSC standings with a 10-4 conference record.
- In their last four games, the Lady Chaps are 2-2, losing to UT Tyler and Texas Woman's, most recently beating Midwestern State and Cameron.
- The Rambelles won the first matchup between the two sides after McGhee-Pleasant hit a game winner with just .9 seconds left on the clock.
- The Chaparrals still hold a 15-5 all-time record over the Rambelles, with the two sides splitting the last four meetings 2-2.
- The Lady Chaps are currently on a 112-game winning streak inside the Rip Griffin Center, that is the third longest streak in NCAA history at any level, only trailing DIII Amherst (121) and the Kentucky's men's program (129).
- Grace Foster leads the way for LCU offensively, she was named the Lone Star Conference offensive player of the week for the second time last week after the team swept MSU and Cameron on the road.
- The sophomore forward averages 14.9 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. In the first contest against the Rambelles, she was limited to just eight points.
ANGELO STATE vs WEST TEXAS A&M
- The Lady Buffs won their most recent game over Midwestern State on the road, breaking a three-game losing streak prior to it.
- WT is back at home this week and face a contest with UT Permian Basin before playing host to the Rambelles. The Lady Buffs go into the week 16-6 on the year, fifth in the LSC with a 9-5 record.
- The Rambelles downed the Lady Buffs earlier this season 60-53 behind double-doubles from McGhee-Pleasant (22 points, 12 rebounds) and Stephens (16 points, 10 rebounds).
- WT still holds a mighty advantage all-time over the Rambelles, 64-27, and have won five of the last six between the two sides.
- Karley Motschenbacher leads the way for WT, averaging 12.8 points and 6.4 rebounds per contest.
