Rambelles Beat Missouri Southern in Home Opener

SAN ANGELO, Texas - After a 29-point third quarter, the Angelo State women's basketball team won its first home game of the year, 80-61, against Missouri Southern Friday afternoon at the Rambelles Classic.
 
The Rambelles improved to 4-2 on the season with the victory, while the Lions fall to 2-2
 
40 Minute Rundown
  • Both teams came out firing in the first quarter, resulting in three ties and four lead changes before the Ramblles took a 17-14 lead within the last minute.
  • Sawyer Lloyd led the Rambelles with six first-quarter points.
  • The Rambelles took control of the second quarter early, taking a 29-19 lead with 5:26 remaining in the half.
  • The Lions went on a 13-2 run and took a 32-31 lead with 1:23 remaining in the half.
  • Stephens scored six points in the second half and a minute layup to give the Rambelles a 33-32 point lead going into the half.
  •  The Rambelles begin the third quarter with an 11-2 run, resulting in a 29-point third quarter to give the Rambelles a 62-44 lead going into the fourth.
