Ellis, Lloyd Garner TABC Small College Awards

SUGAR LAND, Texas – The awards continue to roll in for the Angelo State women's basketball team as Sawyer Lloyd and Andy Ellis were named Player and Assistant Coach of the Year by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC), the organization announced.

Lloyd, Ellis, and the Rambelles finished the season 26-7 overall with the second-best regular season conference record at 17-5. The Blue and Gold captured the Lone Star Conference tournament title en route to hosting their first ever South Central Regional where they made the round of 32.

Ellis earns the women's basketball assistant coach of the year honor in just his second season at Angelo State. He along with wife and Head Coach Alesha Ellis made remarkable strides this season, increasing the win total by 11 games from their first year at Angelo State (15-13). The 26 wins this season were the second most in a single season in program history.

Lloyd earns another honor to add to her list to go along with a pair of All-American nods, an All-Region selection, and a plethora of All-Conference superlatives. Lloyd, now in the Coaching, Sport, Recreation, and Fitness Administration master's program, finished the season averaging 15.5 points per game, pulling down 8.1 boards, dishing out 4.9 assists, and swiping 2.8 steals.
