INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana - The Angelo State women's basketball team ranked eighth in the South-Central regional rankings as announced by the NCAA on Wednesday. The Rambelles ranked 9th in last week's rankings.

 Texas Woman's sits atop of the rankings, followed by (2) Lubbock Christian, (3) UT Tyler, (4) Colorado Mesa, (5) Eastern New Mexico, (6) West Texas A&M, (7) Adams State, and (8) Angelo State to round the top eight. Black Hills State and Colorado State - Pueblo round out the standings in ninth and 10th in the rankings. The top eight teams in the South-Central Region will take part in the Regional Tournament taking place on March 14-17. The winners of the two conference tournaments (LSC, RMAC) will receive an automatic bid into the postseason with the last six spots being filled by at-large selections.

The South-Central Regional Championships will take place on March 14-17 followed by the NCAA Division II Elite Eight beginning on Monday, March 24th at the UMPC Cooper Fieldhouse in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The NCAA Selection Show is scheduled for Sunday and will air on NCAA. com at 9:30 p.m. CST.

The Rambelles open postseason action on Thursday evening as they take on the fourth- seed Eastern New Mexico during the Lone Star Conference Quarterfinals at the Comerica Center in Frisco with tip-off set for 8:30 p.m.
