RICHARDSON, Texas – The Angelo State women's basketball team capped their week with an accolade as
Majik Esquivel was named Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week announced by the organization Monday afternoon.
Esquivel, a sophomore guard majoring in commercial aviation, averaged 21.5 points and shot 51.7% from the field in two road victories that extended the Rambelles' winning streak to eight games.
It marked the second time this season she has earned the honor. She scored 29 points against St. Edward's, becoming one of three conference players to record at least two games of 29 or more points this year.
The Lubbock native also totaled five rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block for the week. She went 7-for-7 from the free-throw line and made six 3-pointers.
Esquivel and the Rambelles return home Thursday, Feb. 19, to face Lubbock Christian at the Junell Center-Stephens Arena. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
