RICHARDSON, Texas – The Angelo State University women's basketball team has secured the No. 6 seed in the upcoming Lone Star Conference Championship Tournament, the league announced Saturday evening.

The eight-team, single-elimination tournament will take place March 6-8 at the Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas.

Angelo State will open tournament play Friday at noon against No. 3 seed UT Tyler.

The two teams previously met Jan. 2 at the Junell Center–Stephens Arena, where the Patriots claimed a 45-42 victory in a defensive contest.
