In their first game in nine days, the 'Belles came out with guns blazing scoring six unanswered points to start the game. Angelo State's defense held the Lions to just 29.7 percent shooting in the first half, while shooting 62.1 percent from the floor. The sharp-shooting Rambelles were 40 percent from beyond the arc and 70 percent from the free throw line. Aguirre came off the bench and tallied 14 first half points, including a trey that put the 'Belles up 34-16. With a more than comfortable lead the Rambelles continued to hit their mark and eventually pushed their lead to as many as 27 points (52-25). The Lions connected for a pair of lay-ups just before the break to cut the 'Belles' advantage to 25 (54-29) at halftime.
The second half was much of the same as the Rambelles consistently held a large advantage. The 'Belles shot 50 percent from the floor, 42.9 percent from the three-point line and 62.5 percent from the charity stripe in the second half. Despite having a better second half than first, A&M-Commerce could not overcome the 25-point deficit of the first half as the Rambelles cruised to their third win of the season by a score of 95-69.
The 'Belles capitalized on 50 points off the bench and held the Lions to 33. Although Texas A&M-Commerce held the edge on second chance points (18-9), the Rambelles out-shot the Lions 56.1 percent to 33.3 percent on the floor and held a slight advantage on three-point shooting (41.2 percent-40.0 percent) and free throw shooting (66.7 percent-64.7 percent).
The Lions were led by freshman guard Danielle Dixon who tallied 17 points and four rebounds. Freshman Bianca Stevenson came off the bench and recorded 14 points, five boards and a pair of blocks, while senior Anisha Ingram contributed 10 points and four rebounds. Junior Shavon Walker led the Lions in boards with eight, while junior Tiffany Mitchell added seven.
